The Pencil and Eraser

Pencil: I'm sorry

Eraser: For what? You didn't do anything wrong.

Pencil: I'm sorry because you get hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That's true. But I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though one day, I know I'll be gone and you'll replace me with a new one, I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.

I found this conversation between the pencil and the eraser very inspirational. Parents are like the eraser whereas their children are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes along the way, they get hurt, and become smaller / older, and eventually pass on. Though their children will eventually find someone new (spouse), but parents are still happy with what they do for their children, and will always hate seeing their precious ones worrying, or sad. All my life, I've been the pencil. And it pains me to see the eraser that is my parents getting smaller and smaller each day. For I know that one day, all that I'm left with would be eraser shavings and memories of what I used to have.

Moral:
“We never know the love of our parents for us till we have become parents.”

THE FATHER'S EYES

The story shows how special the characters’s relationship is. It really touched my heart how he really wanted to make his father happy eventhough he’s not living in this world anymore. Happiness is a matter of chance. We are the ones to choose our own happiness and to give happiness to others in everyway. We are entitled to feel what are the things that will make us happy and satify us. And i just have to come to know that simple thing would mean a lot to others.

MOTHER AND SON

This story easily caught my attention because I have a closer relationship with my mother than my father. As I read the title I thought the story would tackle about how the mother and son can survive without the presence of father. But it all changes as I read the whole story. . .
The mother and son story is all about the child who dislikes his mother for having only one eye. He thinks he always get embarrass when someone saw them. He hates his mother so much until he came to the point that he wishes his mother would die without knowing all the sacrifices his mother given to him just to have a better life.
When the story revealed the cause why the mothers have only one eye I had goose bumps and the tears started to fill my eyes. The mother had done great sacrifices for the sake of her child. She doesn’t think twice just to save her son that is what we called unconditional love. I think all mother would feel the same way as how the mother feel in the story they are willing to give anything or everything just to save their child.
So as a child let’s give our parents importance for every sacrifices they made to us even if it is in a small or great way. Express our love for them every day as if it is your last day because regret is always at the end. And sometimes you never know the value of a moment  until it becomes memory that you wish you could experience again.

THE UGLY DUCKLING

The story certainly manifest the character’s inhibition because of what awaits him when he tries to socialize to others. He is afraid to receive anything bad from others because it would surely lower himself evenmore.
Each one of us was born with different distinction we were not born perfectly. All ofus have scars to be ashamed of but it does not necessarily mean it’s the end of everything. We tend to afraid to tell the world what we’ve got to say. We must always instill in our minds that we have dreams that bright inside of us and we have to let it show to let people know that we are not being restricted by what is lacking in us.

THE LEGEND OF BANANA PLANT

The story depicts that love knows  no boundry. Love is endless. Love is eternal flame. Love never dies. It still lingers though two lovers are apart. Only your bodies are away from each other but the feelings are nearly felt. That is what true love means. It is such a great feeling to love and to be loved so we must care to maintain this feeling for there is no wonderful  feeling than love.

THE LEGEND OF MAKAHIYA

The story displays how God does His move mysteriously to keepus away from danger. He often saves us because He knows that we have a purpose to accomplish in this world. He never takes us for granted, it is us who sometimes take Him for granted. We must always thank Him for guiding us everyday and for the security he always render. God loves us and He never wanted his child to be in danger.

THE GOOSE WITH THE GOLDEN EGGS

The story just contrues that money is the root of all evil. The main character eventually turned into a wicked one when he was able to get what satisfies him as a person. At some point, he found it hard the contentment that result to an unethical action.
We could deny the fact that money is the main reason that causes every individual to involve in such situation. Someof us cannot be contented but exceed to our satisfaction. We could do something bad in order to gain even more which is indeed wrong because other’s lives would be put at stake. We ought not  to depend to certain thing but we must learn how to strive hard to get what we desire. We are allowed to use different ways this life has to offer.

Moral: “Greed often over reaches itself.”

THE SAILBOAT

The story vividly presents who will remain as true friends after all the drawbacks that might occur. Who are merely true to words and true to actions, who would cheer you up and who would bring you down, who truely cares and who talks behind your back. We should remember that wasting our time and efforts to someone unimportant is not an option. We must think the people who remain true and that we have them to support us pursuing our dreams.

THE WEEPY WEMPATI

The story implies the judgement that everyone encounters the moment a person is placed to a situation she is not accustomed to. Everybody undergoes the period of adjustment that we have to be accustomed to. We just have to let ourselves be prepared, learn howto gain our self-confidence and to associate to others. Learn to be independent for it will greatly help you to become what you are exactly and where you are supposed to be.

THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER

The story simple tells us that some people prefer to put off the things for tomorrow what they can do for  the certain day. We often tend to take things for granted because we sometimes try to slip away in our minds the possibilities. Possibilities that might put us into battle which is too late for fight for and regret  the things that have been done. We should not assure ourselves that some things in this world are stable. Every thing is subjected to change in times that we least expect.

Moral: “It is best to prepare fo the days of necessity.”
